Description

You are looking at one of the most historically significant issues in all of Indian comics — “Nagraj Ka Badla”, the third issue of the Nagraj series, originally published by Raj Comics in 1986. This MRP 6 reprint is a later authorised edition of that foundational story — and one of the earliest Nagraj comics you can still find in collectible condition. By 1986, Nagraj was already capturing the imagination of a generation, and this issue — his third adventure — cemented him as India’s foremost comic book superhero.

The story picks up directly after the explosive events of Issue #2 (Nagraj Ki Kabr). Nagraj and his companion were buried alive under rubble when the terrorist Bulldog’s headquarters was bombed. Believing Nagraj dead, Bulldog flees to the corrupt kingdom of Kampali Riyasat, where he forges a dangerous alliance with the kingdom’s treacherous Mahamantri Killol — who has been running criminal operations under the blind eye of the naive Maharaja. Workers discover what they believe is Nagraj’s lifeless body and bring it to Bulldog’s new mountain fortress at Kampali Pass. But when Bulldog’s doctor begins the post-mortem examination, Nagraj’s eyes suddenly snap open. What follows is a relentless, blood-pumping act of vengeance as Nagraj unleashes the full fury of his serpentine powers on Bulldog and Killol — ending their reign of terror once and for all.

Physical Condition Assessment (Based on Visual Inspection)
This copy has been carefully examined and graded based on the actual physical copy pictured.

Grade: Good+ (G+) — Honest Vintage Reading Copy

Cover: The front cover shows natural age-related toning — the original bright yellow background has warmed to a soft amber/ochre tone, consistent with 30+ years of paper aging. The bold red Hindi title retains strong colour vibrancy and remains fully legible. The Raj Comics logo box in the top-left is intact and clear; the MRP 6.00 price and issue number 26 are legible beneath it.

Corners: All four corners show mild blunting and softening — no sharp edges remain — indicating the copy has been read and handled, as expected of a vintage issue of this age.

Edges & Spine: The left spine edge shows slight waviness but no splits, tears, or detachment. Top and bottom edges show minor shelf wear. A faint blue strip is visible at the very bottom edge — the back cover slightly curling around the front — suggesting minor edge roll at the base.

Surface: A faint mark or light scuff is visible in the upper-centre area of the cover, consistent with decades of storage. No significant staining, water damage, or writing marks noted.

Pages: All pages are present and intact. Interior pages show the characteristic mild browning of 1980s–90s Indian newsprint but remain fully readable throughout. No missing pages, torn panels, or detached covers.

This is a complete, fully readable, displayable copy of one of Nagraj’s rarest early issues — a solid addition to any serious Raj Comics collection.

Authenticity & Value
Nagraj Ka Badla is not just a comic — it is one of the founding texts of Indian superhero fiction. Nagraj, alongside Doga and Super Commando Dhruv, forms the holy trinity of Raj Comics characters, and his early issues from 1986 are among the scarcest and most sought-after items in the entire Indian vintage comics market. The MRP 6 reprint edition is itself now a vintage artefact, decades removed from its print run, and finding a complete, readable copy is increasingly difficult. Written by the legendary Parshuram Sharma — whose debut Nagraj story achieved near-mythic status in Indian pop culture — and illustrated by Sanjay Ashtaputre, this issue represents the golden dawn of India’s greatest comic book universe.

As a Nagraj lover, really enjoyed the tight story, vintage art vibe and the feel of early Nagraj days in this reprint edition
